Why you need a Will and Power of Attorney prepared by a lawyer

Our office prepares reasonably priced Wills and Powers of Attorney for clients in Ontario, Canada. These are essential documents which should be prepared by an experienced lawyer and not from a “do it yourself” kit. We have two meetings with a lawyer and each client. The first one is to review their legal capacity to make a will, discuss their needs and take instructions. The second meeting is for review of the document and signing it properly to meet legal requirements. In our view it is not sufficient to meet with a member of the lawyer’s staff to give will instructions and we insist on a detailed meeting with the lawyer.
